A 1000 crore Mahabharat without Rajamouli!

Well, Mahabharat is an epic derived from original Jaya written by Vedavyas and since then many writers have given their own twist to the story bringing it from believable grey scale to clear cut Black vs White story with mythological elements adding on to the characters they prefer. There are many versions too that tried to talk the story through a different point of view. A Malayalam writer, Jnanapeeth Award winner, MT Vasudevan Nair wrote a novel, Randamoozham, meaning second turn describing the events through the eye of Bhima.

There was a talk that the novel is being turned into a movie recently, and it seems to have come true. SS Rajamouli has been highly vocal about his desire to make the epic story but the director also said he needs time and technological advancement to make the film as he thinks he should. But before he could do so a famous ad filmmaker, V A Shrikumar Menon, announced the movie with a Dubai based producer, who is ready to invest 1000 crs on the movie.

The movie will kick start production from September 2018, with reputed stars from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and English taking part in the cast and crew will also have Academy Award winners working over the movie. It will be a first crossover big budget production with the film being made in more than 6 languages, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. In all other languages, the movie will be dubbed and will also be dubbed and released in foreign languages as well. It seems to be a large production and the pre-production works have started with art department working on production design.
